Day 1: the buttons, the food and the pilot

Our first day is already over.
10 am we arrived, kinda had troubles getting in but once in, we stay in! Basic thing we did today was record a pilot record so that from tomorrow on, we can one by one record the instruments on that pilot... it's some sort of map if you would like to call it that way. We encountered some troubles on the way... mostly due to some differences in the protools version that is being used and the one Luc is used to. (think prehistoric vs 21century... thats like Fred Flinstone vs Predator, guess who would win?)

But, after some struggling all fell in place and we are on our marks, set and ready to gooooo. We did have some major luck that Tineke and Sara came along to provide us with our last decent meal before starting the junkfood rally... well we will try to eat decent, but picture 8 guys (Matti and Thomas too) in a single house... think they will eat decent? Well yeah, thats what we thought too!!

Here you have some sights on how we worked today... tomorrow the first things on tape so maybe a little video? That if I can get the internet working in the studio! Damn, as an internet junk it isn't easy to live without the precious net for 10 hours... brrrrr...

Finally, just one more night sleep and then the big day is finally there.
Tomorrow morning at 10 we have to be in Asse... we'll probably have lots of fun on the Brussels ring... traffic jams and all that shit so we'll be all stressed up even before we begin. But do you think we let our morale be taken down by that? Hell no! We are so siked to record our new songs that NOTHING, and I repeat nothing can take down our esprit de corps! In general morale can be seen as a more individual thing different for each person... but for this week we have one Rovic morale! So be on the lookout for some quiet, loud, shocking,... photos and vids.

Hooray for inspiration!

It's a common fact that most people can do that tiny little bit extra when they are under some sort of stress. This is off course no different with Rovic. With no less then 6 days before S-day (Studio day for the dummies ;) )we finally finished all our songs yesterday. In a hellish tempo, creativity struck us and I must say I'm very pleased with the results. Catchy as hell so you can all sing along!
So for now there is only one thing for us to do! Put the clicktrack on, and rehearsel some more!! Just 6 nights to go... kinda like waiting for xmas... but now we won't get gift! We'll be making our own gift!

Hard drive arrived

So we were waiting for our Firewire harddrive to arrive, but today I got it... we'll have 250Gb of Firewire power to record our new album on! Go Lacie go!

And what happened today?

So we had one of our last rehearsals before the recording will begin! Exciting stuff!!! We worked on the last songs, recorded some vocals on them and continued the fine-tuning of the songs. Luc came by to make some arrangements for next week and we are all preparing ourselves already!

So we are going to record a new cd...

Well, finally after long rehearsals, some changes in lineup a long time ago and lots and lots of shows we are ready to start recording our new album.

Saturday 31 March we will be hitting Dèstudio in Asse with Luc van Acker (Revolting Cocks, ...) in a producer task and behind the mixing table.

With this blog, we hope to keep all of you up to date about what we are doing and what the progress will be!
